The aim of Management, Technology, Research, and Innovation eXchange (MATRIX) is to disseminate scholarly information to academics and practitioners of open and distributed learning worldwide.
Before submission, please ensure that you meet the following requirements. Papers which did not conform to these guidelines will be returned:
- All manuscripts should be formatted using 12-point font. The font style is Times New Roman. The text should have 1.5 spacing, except for indented quotations. Text should be saved in word-processing package (save in .doc, .docx or .rtf format).
- Research manuscripts must have a word count within 4000-7000 words, including all references, appendices, tables, and figures. Submissions that exceed this limit will not be accepted for review.
- The manuscript should follow the IMRD format.
- Abstract of each manuscript should have 150-250 words with at least four keywords.
- The paper must use a page size corresponding to a letter sized paper that is 8.5 inches wide and 11 inches long. The margins must be set as follows: Top = 1.5” ; Bottom = 0.75” ;Left and right = 0.5”
- All paragraphs must be indented. All paragraphs must be justified. Paragraph line spacing should be 1.5.
- The title must be 24 pt Regular font. The author/s’ name must be 11 pt Regular font. Author/s’ email address must be in 9 pt Regular font. NB: The first name, initial(s), and surname of each author should be followed by his/her institutional email address. It is important that authors ensure the following: (i) all names have the correct spelling and are in the correct order (first name, then family name); (ii) initials are correct.
- All headings must be in 11 pt font. Every word in heading must be capitalized except for minor words like “a” “an” “at” etc.
- Figures and tables must be centered in the column. Figures must be numbered using Arabic numerals and captions must be 8 pt Regular font. Captions must be centered and justified. On the other hand, tables must be numbered using uppercase Roman numerals and must be centered using an 8 pt font Regular. Every first letter of each word must be capitalized except for minor words.
- References should be written following the APA 6th Edition citation guide and is strictly enforced. Authors are responsible for checking the accuracy of the references. References must be within the last 10 years, and scholarly references.
- References should be written in alphabetical order and must be written in 8 pt Regular font, single-spaced, and indent after the first line of each.
- Work cited should use the “author-date system” (APA style 6th Edition) keyed to a list of works in the reference list. Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa).
- Manuscripts submitted to MATRIX must be grammatically correct and consistent in language use. These standards are non-negotiable and are strictly applied by the Editor-in-Chief and Editors of MATRIX.
- Authors are expected to read and adhere to the submission guidelines in full. Failure to meet the submission guidelines satisfactorily will result in your article being declined.
- By submitting to MATRIX, the authors agree to the submission of their article to Turnitin for the purpose of detecting plagiarism OR confirming originality.
ARTICLE STRUCTURE
A publishable paper should contain the following: Abstract (150-250 words, describing the research problem, the method, the basic findings, the conclusions, and the recommendations); Keywords (at least 4); Introduction (the background information for your study and review pf relevant literature; ); Material and methods (details of how you conducted your study ); Results (presentation of findings); Discussion (analysis of research, explains meaning and significance of the results with literature to support the findings); Conclusion (summarizes your principal findings); and References.
DOCUMENTATION
Please use the American Psychological Association 7th edition citation style, author-date system.
TERMINOLOGY AND ABBREVIATIONS
Technical terms and abbreviations should be defined the first time they appear in the text.
LANGUAGE
MATRIX accepts articles in English only. Submissions using British English or American English spelling are acceptable, but usage should be consistent throughout. Please use spell check for all submissions. (Tip! For American spelling please consult Merriam–Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary; for British spelling you should refer to Collins English Dictionary.)
ORIGINALITY
Manuscripts submitted for review and possible publication in MATRIX must be original material that has not been published or not under consideration for publication anywhere else.
Publishing Previously Distributed Content
- Every article for submission must not plagiarize the work of other people, must not have been published elsewhere and must be the original work of the author. Articles that were previously published or currently under review by other publishers are not qualified to be considered for publication in MATRIX.
- Self-published articles in blogs or other institutional repositories and those that were used in conference proceedings must be thoroughly revised before it is to be submitted to MATRIX. In case the article is obtained from other research papers such as dissertation or thesis, the institution name, submission date including the name of the author(s) and the corresponding adviser(s) must be provided.
- Self-published articles and those that appeared in conference proceedings must include distribution history in an endnote. Authors whose articles were previously distributed should make a rationale review and publication to MATRIX in a note to the editor.

Articles published in the MATRIX are available under Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY-4.0). Authors retain copyright in their work and grant MATRIX right of first publication under CC BY-4.0
